Governor encourages veteran recognition

The Crittenden Press salutes all of
our vetarans today and every day
In honor of Veterans Day, Gov. Steve Beshear is encouraging Kentuckians to recognize the courage, dedication and sacrifice of our soldiers and veterans.

“Kentucky is home to more than 331,000 living veterans, and each of them deserves our utmost gratitude and respect,” said Gov. Beshear. “On this Veterans Day, Jane and I urge you to honor our service members and give thanks to those who sacrificed so much for our freedoms.”

Gov. Beshear has proclaimed this week as Veterans Week in Kentucky, and the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting several events and ceremonies throughout the week at state veterans nursing homes and cemeteries. Go to http://veterans.ky.gov for more information.

Recently, Gov. Beshear released a special commentary on veterans, recognizing their service and the administration’s efforts to support veterans and their families. To view, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmISQrHsxPY.
