Veterans Day was marked in Crittenden County earlier today with public ceremonies at Rocket Arena and the Mapleview Cemetery war memorial. The event offered by the school system featured students from Denis Hodge's military history class portraying a variety of characters (below), including soldiers from America's wars. The annual American Legion Post 111 service at the war memorial followed a more traditional format, with surviving veterans from respective periods honored with a modest ceremony (top and bottom).
