A jury of four women and eight men following a day of testimony deliberated for almost two and a half hours before finding a Central City man guilty of statutory rape and recommending a 10-year prison sentence.

Crittenden County native Kenneth Winters has decided against seeking a third term in the Kentucky Senate. The Murray Republican, who represents Livingston County in the Senate District 1, will retire from the state legislature when his current term ends in January 2013.
