Fifty years ago, President John F. Kennedy designated Land Between The
Lakes as a national recreation area with the vision that LBL would
“demonstrate how recreation, environmental education, resource
management and restoration all work together for the benefit of the
region.” Brian Beisel, customer service department manager, said in a
press release, that LBL has been managed since then to fulfill President
Kennedy’s vision.
