According to The Journal-Enterprise in Providence, Rickey Thorpe, 29, of Dawson Springs, and another employee were performing maintenance work on a continuous miner when the equipment fell, killing Thorpe.
“He was a mine mechanic working on a continuous miner,” said Dick Brown with the Division of Mine Safety in Frankfort. “Apparently the machinery fell and crushed him.”
