proposed Amish buggy safety legislation agreeable
with the communities across the state.

First District Sen. Ken Winters has proposed a plan that may put an end
to dissension between officials and Kentucky’s Amish population
regarding placement of safety-warning symbols on horse-drawn buggies.
Winters (R-Murray), a native of Crittenden County, says Senate Bill 75 would implement changes to
increase visibility of buggies and not offend the Amish religious
beliefs. He says he’s spoken to Amish leaders and they find his proposal
acceptable.
