Kentucky ranks sixth in the nation for overdose deaths involving
painkillers. But a poll suggests painkiller abuse is more prevalent in
eastern Kentucky than it is in the western part of the state. Foundation
for a Healthy Kentucky released data this week from an exhaustive poll
it conducted in the fall. Researchers asked Kentuckians numerous
questions about their relationships with prescription drug abuse.
