Coyotes could be legally shot on sight anytime of the day or night under
House Bill 60, which passed the Kentucky Senate yesterday by a 37-0 vote. The legislation introduced in the House flew out of that chamber by a 99-1 vote. In
response to growing concerns about the threat the animals pose to dogs,
rabbits and young children, state Rep. Fitz Steele (D-Hazard) sponsored
the bill.
The bill awaits the governor's signature.
