Partners allege legislator spent company funds

The Madisonville business partners of Kentucky state Rep. Ben Waide filed a complaint in Hopkins Circuit Court Monday alleging more than $31,000 in company funds had been misused since 2006. Lawrence Holmes and Jason Myers, who along with Waide are officers, directors and shareholders of Liberty Rehabilitation PSC, allege improper use of company funds by Waide for personal gain including campaign expenses and personal costs. Todd P’Pool, who is Waide’s attorney, said the allegations were untrue and he planned to vigorously defend the case as it progresses.
