2nd truss of old Ledbetter Bridge taken down

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet works

to remove a truss of the old Ledbetter Bridge brought down

by a controlled explosion this morning.

This morning, the second of three truss spans of the old Ledbetter Bridge was demolished with explosives. The detonation to bring down the truss into the Tennessee River occurred at 8 a.m.

Round 3 of the demolition is scheduled for next Wednesday morning, when the main navigation span will be taken down.
