Lyon County Sheriff Weekly Report

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, beginning around 8:30 a.m., deputies served the following warrants:

  • Michael J. Simmons, 29, of Bowling Green was charged on a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant with promoting contraband, first degree, and being a persistent felony offender. Simmons remains in state custody.
  • Phillip M. Hobdy, 39, of Owensboro was charged on a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant with promoting contraband, first degree, and being a persistent felony offender. Hobdy remains in state custody.
  • Bryan M. Enoch, 36, of Smithland was charged on a Lyon District Court bench warrant for failure to appear in a traffic case. Enoch was also served with a Livingston Circuit Court indictment warrant charging him with receiving stolen property valued at \$500 to less than \$1,000, first-degree criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence, destruction of a VIN number, no registration receipt and no registration plates. He was later lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
  • Joshua W. Calvert, 29, of Lebanon was charged with promoting contraband, first degree, and being a persistent felony offender. He was also served with a Marion District Court bench warrant for nonpayment of fines, fees and costs. Calvert remains in state custody.
  • Lovell Turner, 28, of Louisville was charged on a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant with third-degree assault (inmate assault on a correctional employee) and being a persistent felony offender. Turner remains in state custody.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, around 11:25 a.m., Sheriff Brent White and Capt. Dennis Beckett served

Dequantis T. Crouch, 26, of Clarksville, Tenn., with a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant charging him with probation violation for a felony offense. Crouch was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center after being extradited from Tennessee to Kentucky.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, around 7 p.m., sheriff’s deputies from Lyon and Livingston counties, Kentucky State Police and members of the Western Kentucky Violent Crime Task Force were conducting an investigation in the Salem area of Livingston County. During this investigation, Justice M. Cordova, 31, of Paducah was arrested and served by KSP with a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant charging her with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree (greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation into Cordova is being led by Chief Deputy Sam Adams with assistance from the Western Kentucky Violent Crime Task Force, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, KSP and the Eddyville Police Department. Cordova was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

On Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, around 5:30 a.m., Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a reported burglary in progress on Birdie Bannister Road in southern Lyon County. At least three people were involved in stealing two ATVs from the residence, and the thieves rode them off the property before traveling north on KY 274. On Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, around 2:30 p.m., Deputy Josh Travis and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office located and recovered the two stolen ATVs from a farm field in rural Caldwell County off Otter Pond Road. Anyone with information concerning this burglary and theft is asked to contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 270-388-2311.

On Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, around 7:24 p.m., sheriff’s deputies and KSP troopers responded to Hu-B’s Marina in Kuttawa for a disturbance complaint. The investigation resulted in the detention and later arrest of Russell L. Schmidt, 49, of Springfield, Ill. He was charged with menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct. Schmidt was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
