Local woman injured in wreck

A Crittenden County woman was taken by helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville Sunday afternoon following a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 60 East. Sara J. Wells, 69, of Marion was seriously injured when her 2002 Ford Station Wagon left the highway for unknown reasons. Wells was eastbound 5.5 miles from Marion when the accident occurred at 1:15 p.m. Her vehicle struck an earthen embankment that caused her vehicle to become airborne.  The Station Wagon came to rest off the roadway in a field.  Wells was transported to Crittenden Hospital by Crittenden County Ambulance and later life-flighted to Evansville.
