Col. Scott Campbell and Trish Milburn were honored for their educational and career successes. Col. Campbell commanded a unit that was charged with closing down one of the largest military bases in Iraq when U.S. forces pulled out last winter. Milburn is a paperback novelist with 14 titles to her credit, including two award-winning books.
The two were celebrated at a luncheon Friday.
Jim Hatfield, a longtime civic leader in Marion, was recognized posthumously as a Distinguished Alumnus. His wife, Bonita, and family were on hand to accept the honor on his behalf.
The Crittenden Press will publish a special Graduation Section next week featuring the graduating Class of 2012.
