Getting a General Education Diploma in Kentucky just a lot got cheaper — for a while.
For a limited time, qualifying students can take the test for as little
as $40, a savings of $80, state education officials announced Wednesday.
The test can be taken in four parts, and $20 vouchers are available for
each part. The vouchers are being financed with federal Workforce
Investment Act funds.
"We are pleased to offer this opportunity and are hopeful that
Kentuckians will take full advantage of it," said Reecie Stagnolia, vice
president for Kentucky Adult Education at the Council on Postsecondary
Education.
The vouchers will be distributed while supplies last. To determine
eligibility, residents should contact their local adult education
