Restrictions set for U.S. 41 Twin Bridges starting Monday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KyTC) tentatively plans lane restrictions on the U.S. 41 Twin Bridges between Henderson and Evansville, Ind., starting Monday.

The lane restrictions are to facilitate a detailed inspection of the bridges.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter one-lane traffic from approximately 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. Lane restrictions may be up for additional hours on weekends.

Inspectors will be climbing the bridge structure and using a snooper truck as they go about their work.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter slowing and merging traffic on the bridge approaches.
The detailed inspection is expected to take about 10 days to two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
