Two Caldwell County teens were injured Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Ky. 139 North in Caldwell County.
According to Kentucky State Police, Gregory Riggs Jr., 19, of Princeton was operating a 2006 Toyota Corolla northbound on Ky. 139 North. Cody Lowery, 17, of Fredonia was a passenger in the vehicle. As Riggs' vehicle exited a sharp right curve, he lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane of travel. The vehicle then exited the southbound shoulder of the roadway into a drainage ditch.
The impact of the collision caused Riggs' vehicle to overturn onto its left side. The vehicle came to final rest in a ditch on its left side facing south.
Riggs and Lowery were transported by ambulance to Caldwell Medical Center for injuries sustained as a result of the collision. The collision is under investigation by Trooper Ben Sawyer.
