Murray State University’s May 2015 commencement ceremony will be held at
10 a.m. on Saturday in the CFSB Center and will begin with the
Presentation of Colors by the Murray State University Army ROTC Color
Guard.
There are 1,304 degree candidates for spring graduation — 939 undergraduate, 360 graduate and five doctoral candidates.
Gov. Steve Beshear will deliver the commencement address and will
receive an honorary doctorate of public policy from Murray State
University.
An attorney by profession, Beshear has a long background in public
service, having served as a state representative in the Kentucky General
Assembly, as attorney general and as lieutenant governor. He is a
native of Dawson Springs and holds both a bachelor’s and law degree
from the University of Kentucky. He also served in the U.S. Army
Reserve.
Beshear and his wife, Jane, have been married since 1969. They have two sons and three grandchildren.
