A severe thunderstorm is being blamed for widespread damage in southern Crittenden County and around Fredonia Wednesday afternoon. Lightening is suspected in starting a fire that destroy the Roberet Atchley home on Amos Road in rural Crittenden County.
Fire departments from Fredonia, Caldwell Springs and Salem were dispatched to the blaze, but the home was fully engulfed before firemen arrived with tanker trucks.
Other wind damage to property was reported in Fredonia and the surrounding area.
