Man escapes custody in Madisonville

UPDATE: SUSPECT HAS BEEN CAUGHT AND LODGED IN JAIL

Shortly after midnight last night, Trooper Brandon McPherson arrested John M. Crawford at a residence on Pleasant View Road in Hopkins County for manufacturing methamphetamine. Trooper McPherson transported Crawford to the Hopkins County Detention Center; however, the detention center would not take the suspects until he was medically cleared due to burns on his hands and face.

Trooper McPherson then transported Crawford to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for treatment of the burns. At approximately 4:21 a.m., Crawford walked away from the Regional Medical Center and has not been located.

Crawford is wanted for escape, second degree, a Class D Felony. He is 37, white male, 5-9, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue, fleece pullover and blue jeans. He has burns to his left hand, face, and lips.
