Roads are hazardous

Motorists are advised to slow down and allow extra travel time today, according to Keith Todd of the Kentucky Department of Highways.

Refreezing of melted snow overnight has caused problems for highway crews by putting a light glaze of ice on many roadways that was quickly covered by light snow that has continue to fall, said Todd.

Falling temps overnight reduced the impact of ice-fighting chemicals. Driving conditions on “B” and “C” Snow Priority Routes are not likely to improve much until temperatures rise back into the mid-20s.
