Metcalfe's great-grandson, Eddie Knight, had pulled her out of the home along with help from Marion policeman George Foster, but she had sustained burns over 30 percent of her body, according to emergency personnel.
Metcalfe is the fifth person to die in a home fire in Marion in the last 30 years.
Investigators believe it was an electical issue that caused the fire.
