Divers en route to E'town Landing

UPDATE: Emergency personnel were called to the Elizabethtown Landing on the Ohio River near Tolu just before dawn today.

Crittenden County Rescue Squad was initially dispatched and asked to take a boat to search for a vehicle reportedly believed in the water. Once there, they saw images on sonar to indicate something large, like a vehicle, under water about 35 feet deep. A dive team was called in to help with the search.

Sheriff Wayne Agent said a witness to the incident early this morning described seeing someone flee the boat ramp area as tail lights of a vehicle went under water. The witness told the sheriff that the person fleeing the landing went into the forest. Investigators have not been able to find that person.

Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
