Hospital sale gets thumbs up

County leaders today gave Crittenden Health Systems directors approval to move ahead with the sale of the local hospital. The first step for government officials was accepting a sealed bid for the property, which occurred this morning. Now, the hospital board of directors will work to finalize the deal before next month's regular meeting of the Crittenden County Fiscal Court.

Negotiations are ongoing and some details will be hashed out in the coming days and weeks, but it appears that the sale of the hospital to the company that has been managing it for the past year is imminent.
