The second alcohol referendum in just more than three years was successful in Marion balloting today.
Voters in the five Marion precincts on Tuesday opted to legalize package sales and liquor by the drink in the city. The vote was 403-277 to make alcohol sales legal.
A measure to allow liquor by the drink only in Marion failed in March 2016 by a count of 245-298.
