Wreck on U.S. 641 injures Tenn. infant

Kentucky State Police are investigating a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on U.S. 641 in Fredonia  9:24 a.m. today.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher Peek, 30, Woodlawn, Tenn., was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on U.S. 641 when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve on the wet roadway. The vehicle crossed the southbound lane and exited the shoulder of the roadway. It traveled down an earthen embankment and overturned.  The vehicle came to rest overturned on the driver’s side.

Peek, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.  His son, Christian Peek, 1, was transported via ambulance to Crittenden Health Systems for treatment.  His son was restrained in a child safety seat.

Trooper Ben Sawyer is investigating the collision.
