I-24 one lane near Grand Rivers

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is restricting traffic to one lane on the Interstate 24 Tennessee River Bridge during daylight hours this week. Motorists should take note that the work zone speed limit has been modified.

This lane restriction for both eastbound and westbound traffic is to allow a detailed inspection of the bridge structure. This work zone now includes a 55 mile per hour speed limit with double fines.

Working conditions at the site have allowed the work zone speed limit to be raised to 55 mph from the original 45 mph. However, we have added double fines for speeding in this work zone. Kentucky State Police are providing an enhanced enforcement presence.

This work zone is located at I-24 mile point 29.136 at the Marshall-Livingston County line. Motorists can expect to encounter lane restrictions and reduced speed limits between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day.
