Anyone thinking about getting a GED should do so before the end of the 
year, when several aspects of the test will change. Mary Beth Wood, an 
adult education specialist at Hopkinsville Community College, wants 
people to know that the test will change substantially with the new 
year. “In January 2014, the new tests will be more difficult and 
computer-based,” she said. “They will be taken on a computer and will 
cost twice as much.”
