Bechler and his supporters began celebrating about 8:30 p.m., when it was clear he'd carried every county in the district except his challenger's home base – Caldwell County.
In the Bechler camp, their vote counters say he's ahead 1,766 votes to 891 with just one Christian County precinct unreported.
The district includes Crittenden and Livingston counties, too. A portion of Christian was added this election cycle, replacing a portion of McCracken.
