Last-minute surge helps Community Christmas

A last-minute surge of holiday spirit has lifted Community Christmas closer to its goal of having gifts for 308 needy children.

The annual effort was in jeopardy only a few hours ago, but organizers now say the names of only six children remain on angel trees at Pamida and the Extension office. They hope those will be taken by late this afternoon so that every child will be sponsored.

You can still make financial donations at The Peoples Bank in Marion through Friday.
