Winter advisory still in effect for Crittenden

The National Weather Service has extended a Winter Weather Advisory until noon today for Crittenden and several other counties in the area, including some in southern Illinois.

With temperatures still under the freezing mark by late morning, the weather service said freezing drizzle and freezing fog will continue to develop, with little or no additional ice accumulation. However, patchy slick spots are possible on roadways, especially bridges.

Other Kentucky counties still under the advisory are Union, Webster, Hopkins, McClean and Muhlenburg. In southern Illinois, Pope, Johnson, Gallatin and Hardin remain under the advisory.
