Hazardous weather possible Monday

According to the National Weather Service at Paducah, scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected throughout the region through much of the day Monday, culminating with a north-to-south oriented line of storms moving slowly eastward through the region from the late afternoon through early tuesday morning.

A good chance of severe thunderstorms exists Monday and Monday night. Initially, damaging winds and large hail will be the primary concerns with individual storms from late morning through much of the afternoon. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes will be possible with the line from late afternoon through the night.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated with the line of storms late Monday through Monday night. One to 3 inches will be possible, with the greatest amounts expected over west Kentucky. Some localized flooding issues are possible with the passage of the line of convection, but not expected to become widespread.
