The moment cash-strapped drivers have been praying for has finally come:
Gasoline has dropped below $3 a gallon. Monday morning a pocket of gas
stations along Paris Road in Mayfield posted prices below $3 for the
first time in what seems like an eternity to most drivers. On Tuesday
afternoon, the Shell ($2.92), Casey's ($2.92), Murphy USA ($2.93) and
Cheers ($2.94) on Paris Road had the lowest fuel prices in the state,
followed by a few stations in Owensboro and Hartford.
Gas prices in Marion on Wednesday morning were at $3.14 per gallon.
