The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office wants the public to be aware of a
telephone scam that’s been circulating. Recently, there have been at
least two reported incidents of what appears to be a scam involving the
Internal Revenue Service. A person claiming to be from the IRS has
called Henderson County residents telling them they owe large amounts of
back taxes, officials said. The caller said if they do not pay the
taxes, they’ll be arrested within the hour.
