Traffic advisory: Webster County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close state highway Ky. 270 in Webster County starting Tuesday, July 6. The closure is to allow base repairs between the Clay and Lisman communities. The work is expected to take about 4 days. The work will require Ky. 270 to be closed just west of Slover Creek Road. Motorists are encouraged to detour via Ky. 132, Ky. 1340 and Ky. 874. Ky. 270 is expected to reopen to traffic on Friday, July 8.

UPDATE: Benny “Butch” Hunter, the highway contractor injured yesterday in Princeton, remains in critical, but stable condition at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. The worker is employed by Weststate Construction of Hopkinsville. They are constructing 2 new turn lanes on Ky. 91 at the entrances to the Caldwell County Schools Complex.
