U.S. 641 wreck sends one to hospital

A two-vehicle collision on U.S. 641 near the Crittenden-Caldwell line sent one man to the hospital for evaluation.

According to Crittenden County Sheriff's Deputy Greg Rushing, Bray Sherill of Princeton and Benny Fowler of Fredonia collided this afternoon after Sherill reported being distracted inside the car and overcorrecting after running off the shoulder of the road, causing his car to veer into the other lane and hit Fowler head-on.

Rushing said Fowler was taken to Caldwell County Medical Center in Princeton by ambulance, but his injuries did not appear to be serious.

"He was out of his vehicle and in another when I got there," Rushing said, adding that Fowler had recently had surgery, creating a concern for evaluation.

Traffic was restricted to one lane for a time for emergency response.
