Son charged in quadruple Trigg murder case

Kentucky State Police detectives have charged 36-year-old Ryan Champion with the deaths of his mother, father and sister. He is also being criminally charged with the death of Vito Riservato.

State police have been actively investigating the murders of Joy Champion, Lindsey Champion, Emily Champion and Riservato since they were found at the Champion's residence in Cadiz on Oct.  26.  Since that time, investigators have been gathering evidence and speaking to a number or people culminating enough probable cause for an arrest warrant.

State police have formally charged Ryan Champion with four counts of capital murder and one count of capital kidnapping.

Champion was processed into Christian County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.

Kentucky State Police has been assisted by Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County Sheriff's Office, Christian County Sheriff's Office, and Hopkinsville Police Department.
