The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today for all of western Kentucky, including Crittenden County.
No watches or warnings have been issued yet, but there is a chance of severe weather across the entire midsection of the nation.
According to the weather service, there is a chance of scattered thunderstorm activity from midday through the afternoon. A few storms may produce locally gusty winds and possibly small hail.
A band of thunderstorms is forecast to move from west to east across the area tonight. A few of the storms may produce strong winds and small hail. The best chance of brief, low-end severe wind gusts near 60 mph will be across southeast Missouri and western Kentucky should enough instability persist into the night. Most of the activity is not expected to be severe. Otherwise, brief, heavy rain and lightning will be the main hazards.
There remains a slight chance of thunderstorms from southwest Indiana into the Pennyrile Region of western Kentucky early Friday morning.
