Marion Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze at 10:40 p.m., and firemen were on the scene until 1:30 a.m., this morning.
Fire Chief Red Howton said no one was home when the blaze broke out. Two front rooms were destroyed by fire and heat and smoke damaged the rest of the house, the chief said.
"We're not sure, but we think it was lightning," Howton said regarding the cause.
The home belongs to Doug Wallace.
