Historic farms survey today and tomorrow

A field crew from the Kentucky Archaeological Survey will be in Livingston and Crittenden counties today and tomorrow documenting historic places. The two counties have received a grant to identify rural, farm buildings and landscapes. The archaeologists plan to catalog these places and create a directory of things they've found. Their findings will be preserved among the state's historic record. Of particular interest are places that depict the community's farming heritage.

The group will be taking photos and inspecting sites. The weather, so far, appears that it will not cooperate with their effort today. However, Tuesday is supposed to be better with sunshine and mild temperatures.
