Sirens Wednesday result of testing new equipment

New equipment being installed in the Marion-Crittenden County E-911 dispatching center will require testing Wednesday.

No timeframe has been announced, but the city's tornado siren will sound at some point throughout the day. This will only be a test.

Dispatcher Kellye Dalton Rudolph said the siren could sound more than once.

She said testing the new equipment is necessary to ensure everything is in working order and to prevent mishaps in the future.
