Water: It's Big News Here and Beyond

Water is in the news a whole lot these days. Whether it's too much or a lack thereof, water plays a critical part in all of our lives.

Flooding in Western Kentucky over the past couple days is an indication of pain that can be caused by water, but in Marion there's still a crisis over not having enough.

This week's full edition of The Crittenden Press takes a look at a couple of big water-related stories. In Marion, the city council is discussing how it can pay for a struggling water department that's been nearly crippled by a problem with one of its raw water sources. Meanwhile Crittenden-Livingston Water District stands to benefit to some degree from the situation in Marion as federal officials try to help by earmarking big money for the two-county system.

In this week's newspaper, see how your water rates could be affect in Marion and what congress may do to help.

Also, this week we take a look a novel approach for welding students at CCHS and there is a full report from last week's grand jury and circuit court proceedings.
